Øyo is a family business from Geilo with a primary focus on quality.
The history of Øyo dates back to 1882 when Knut Øyo started the business in a small log cabin made of 4 kvarv (four logs stacked on top of each other). After surviving both fire and flooding, Knut’s four sons joined the business in 1921, and the name was changed to Øyo Ljåsmie. During the war, demand for various tools increased significantly, and the brothers realized the company name had become misleading. In 1941, they changed it to Brødrene Øyo. Since then, the company has expanded several times, with new generations joining the business.
Quality is a cornerstone of Øyo’s philosophy, which is one reason they remain a key supplier in the Norwegian market. As a small company, Øyo is highly flexible and capable of adapting to the changing needs of the market.
