You can travel comfortably and efficiently to Geilo, with a journey time of about 3 hours from Bergen and approximately 3.5 hours from Oslo. VY trains on the Bergen Line take you through some of Norway's most beautiful and pristine natural areas.
The are 5-6 trains departures to and from Geilo each day. You can purchase your ticket through the VY app, online, or at the VY ticket machine at the station. Remember to buy your ticket before boarding.
The shortest route between Oslo and Bergen is via RV7, with Geilo approximately halfway along this road. RV7, which crosses Hardangervidda and runs alongside the Hardangerfjord, a National Tourist Route offering spectacular natural experiences.
Alternatively, you can reach Geilo via FV50, which crosses the mountains from the west to the east. This route takes you through impressive landscapes between Aurland and Hol, and from Hol, it's only 10 km to Geilo. From Geilo, you can continue on FV40 through Numedal to Kongsberg, Larvik, and finally to Tønsberg and Sandefjord.
