The museum's exhibition "Norway's Future Breakthrough" shows the construction of the Bergen Railway from 1871 to its opening in 1909. In the exhibition, you can see old photographs and films from the operation of the railway, tourist life, and hear songs about construction and barracks life. The exhibition includes an authentic forge and construction barracks. The exhibition "The fight against the snow" shows historical snow removal material and tells how the high mountain stretch was kept open throughout the winter.
Rallarmusset Finse Foundation was established on 2 September 1986 by Finse Vell, NSB, Finse 1222, Ulvik Herad and the Norwegian Railway Club. The purpose is to pass on the special history of the high mountain section of the Bergen Railway to future generations. The museum opened in 1990, and new exhibitions were opened in 2009.
Since the summer of 1992, the museum has run the Navvy Café with an exhibition about the life of a railway guard in Fagernut's guard's residence, which is located 1310 meters above sea level and 10 km west of Finse along Rallarvegen.
