That's why we want the pre-Christmas weekend to be about relaxing and just enjoying yourself, and what's better than taking the train directly from either Bergen or Oslo? Already here, you will feel the Christmas spirit as the train passes small cozy towns and glittering winter landscapes. It is not without reason that the Bergen Railway is called one of the world's most beautiful train journeys.

From November, the hotels are christmas decorated and you can't help but look forward to Christmas. If you choose self-catering, you completely decide the pace yourself, and what could be more cozy than sitting in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine?
Pre-Christmas activities - At Geilo there are lots of activities and experiences for everyone. But to get into the Christmas spirit, there is little that beats a sleigh ride or do you like a bit more speed and excitement, maybe dog sledding is for you?

For the family, Sofias Restaurant is the perfect gathering place, with good food and drink in a cozy and good atmosphere. Bring your group of friends to Smakeriet Beefbar, where you will find a unique atmosphere, stylish decor and rich taste experiences. For a company, a trip to Hallingstuene Restaurant will be a fantastic experience, they serve good Norwegian food with a modern twist, but also local food of the highest class. Christmas market and shopping - We recommend taking the trip through the city centre. From the end of November you can experience a cozy Christmas market. The pedestrian street will be decorated with Christmas decorations, lit up and small, cozy sales stalls will be open every Saturday until Christmas. The same weekend that the Christmas market opens, it is also the winter opening at Geilo, and the shops have very good prices on everything you need for winter and Christmas shopping!
A trip to the ski slope which will hopefully open at the beginning of December and one or more pre-Christmas concerts!
