Halnekongen provides access to some of the park's most impressive hiking routes, and you can also use the boat for a scenic round trip across the plateau. Halnekongen operates from Halne Fjellstugu, located by Rv7, to the stops at Skaupa and Sleipa. This popular boat route has been running since 1954, before the Sleipa dam was built. Visit Halne Fjellstugu for information on excellent hiking opportunities starting from Halnekongen or enjoy a delightful lunch.

Canoe Rental

Canoe Rental at Ustedalsfjorden

Geilo Aktiv and Hol Turlag offer canoe rentals centrally in Geilo. Hol Turlag provides four canoes at Veslefjorden, while Geilo Aktiv’s canoe, "Freya," is located at Geilo Beach, perfect for a paddle on Ustedalsfjorden. The canoes accommodate up to three people, or two adults and two small children. This is an excellent family activity, and you might even spot signs of beavers along the fjord’s edges.

DNT Hol Turlag rents out its canoes through the Tourist Information in the center of Geilo. The boathouse is located by Veslefjorden, east of Geilo Beach and Ustedalsfjorden. DNT offers four three-person canoes, including equipment. Everything is easily accessible by the water’s edge. Payment and the key to the boathouse can be obtained at the Tourist Information.
