Tuftebrui
Tuftebrui was probably built in 1884/85, probably after a flood had traveled with the previous bridge.
The bridge was 106 years old before it had to give way to a new one. By then, it would have fallen into such disrepair that it should no longer be used for regular foot traffic.
During these 106 years, repair work was carried out several times, and for many years there have been plans to demolish the bridge and replace it with a newer one.
In 1985, the old Tuftebrui was protected. The antiquarian authorities were aware that a new bridge would have to be built anyway, but the protection was used as a means to ensure that the new bridge, both structurally and visually, would be as close to the original as possible.
The new bridge has been built slightly wider than the old one to accommodate the functions it will serve, in addition to regular pedestrian traffic. Landowners will be able to use the bridge for normal tractor driving, and the municipality will be able to drive trail preparation machines over it. It is not open to other motorized traffic.
