Rafting in Dagali – Perfect for Families and Adrenaline Junkies!

Rafting providers in Dagali offer experiences for everyone, whether you’re looking for a family-friendly activity or a serious adrenaline rush. Family rafting is available for kids aged 8 and up, while the most popular trips are suitable for children from 12 years old and up. For those seeking extra excitement, participants must be 18 years old or 15 years old with parental consent. Rafting in Dagali is ideal for anyone who loves water, outdoor activities, and fun!

When is the Best Time for Rafting?

The rafting season in Dagali typically starts the first weekend after May 17th. This depends on the river’s water level, which is influenced by nighttime temperatures and snowmelt. The road to the river must also be snow-free, as it is closed and not plowed during winter, meaning the snow must melt and the road must dry before rafting can begin.

Spring flood usually occurs in early June, and during this period, it’s best to avoid the most challenging rapids and instead move further down the river. The ideal time for rafting is therefore right after the flood, from late June to mid-July. At this time, conditions are perfect for all types of rafting trips, whether you’re looking for a family outing or a more extreme adventure.

Family and super rafting trips can be adjusted by moving up or down the river, while Viking and extreme trips are more dependent on the right water level and may be more sensitive to changes in river conditions.

Rafting in Numedalslågen

Numedalslågen, Norway’s third-longest river at approximately 352 km, originates from Hardangervidda. The crystal-clear, fresh water from the national park flows through Dagali, continues down Numedalen, and eventually reaches the sea at Larvik.

The river offers a variety of rapids suitable for everyone. Here, you can find both safe family rafting for the little ones and more extreme experiences with challenging rapids and wave surfing.
